5 Best Brunch Spots in Newton, MA
Welcome to the Neighborhood!
The city of Newton is big and hungry people can be indecisive. As someone who has grown up and lived in Newton I can safely say these are 5 of the best brunch spots in our city.
Rox Diner Newtonville
The Rox Diner is a local restaurant serving up modern diner grub with delicious options for Brunch. Their creative menu items are sure to keep you coming back to try new flavor experiences. We recommend the Egg’s Alaska Benedict and the Big Rig Breakfast Combo. Switch out the Red Bliss Fries for Sweet Potato Fries (our server agrees this is a great call). Rox also offers a kids menu and senior breakfast. If you want to keep it simple, grab a breakfast sandwich to go. There will be avocado! Gluten Free options available.
Johnny’s has been around for ages. It is the quintessential Newton Centre dining experience. Serving up a variety of breakfast dishes done right, explore their menu options while you explore the school portraits of Week’s Junior High dating back to the 50s! Breakfast is served all day with a fruit smoothie to help all that goodness go down. Did we mention their french toast is made on thick slices of Challah bread? We’re in!
The Village on Washington St. serves up a variety of diner food and recently opened up their new bar. The decor is easy and the food is bomb. Serving up a blend of signature cocktails including a Nutella Martini, they have all of your brunch needs satisfied. Explore all of their great options here. We promise you will leave satisfied and highly recommend their fluffy flapjacks. The Village is definitely a local go-to!
A vintage style 50’s diner that is LEGEND in the Newton scene, especially for it’s delicious homemade ice cream and sundaes. If you are looking for a big brunch with a banana boat desert – this is it! Amazing for kids and sure to put a smile on their faces. Cabot’s is where our grandparents took us for a meal and treat, nostalgia levels through the roof. Take a look at their delicious menu here and consider picking up one of their ice cream cakes for your next birthday shindig.
The Station Diner
Opened up a few years ago right on the T in Newton Centre, the decor here is really interesting and cool. With a steam-punk industrial vibe and a nice twist on regular breakfast sides (rosemary home fries, yes please!) this brunch spot is sure to impress. In the summertime sit outside and enjoy the quiet foot traffic of Union St. Once upon a time a friend and I hosted an open mic here and those days led to many a meals and drinks at their full service bar. With friendly waitstaff and a variety of options, visit this awesome brunch spot and leave satisfied. Extra points for the time we saw Bruce Springsteen leaving with a smile 😉
